CNA/HHA Program Summary
Summary about the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and Home Health Aide (HHA) program and the roles of the California Department of Education.Purpose
Certified Nurse Assistants (CNAs) and Home Health Aides (HHAs) provide long term care to the elderly and disabled in skilled nursing facilities and home settings as outlined by the California Code of Regulations, Chapter 2.5, Article 1, Title 22 and the Code of Federal Regulations, Chapter IV.
Students Served
Any secondary or postsecondary level student has access to CNA/HHA training programs offered through their respective Regional Occupational Centers and Programs, or Adult School, Community college, or facility-based State approval training program. Results
Students successfully completing the CNA/HHA program qualify to take the State Certification Exam to become a CNA or HHA. Approximately 94 percent of the students completing these training programs passed the certification exam.
