Figure 12.1. The CA NGSS Implementation Pathway Model

This is a conceptual flowchart. It has two rows. The first row reads Awareness Transition Implementation. The second row reads Stage 1 Initial Exposure to NGSS leads to Stage 2 Deepening Understanding of NGSS leads to Stage 3 Planning Instruction Around NGSS (an arrow circle indicates this is an iterative process between stages 2 and 3) leads to Stage 4 Full Alignment of Instruction to NGSS.

This is a concept flow chart comprised of six squares connected by arrows in a circle. From left to right: Commit to Vision and Standards (with input of Knowledge and Beliefs; Analyze Student Learning and Other Data (with input of Context); Set Goals (with input of Critical Issues); Plan; Do (both of these with input of strategies); Evaluate Results; Then an arrow directs the reader back to the beginning of the cycle with the words Reflect and Revise.
