CSESAP Employee Election Form

Instructions for the Employee Election Form to Participate in the Classified School Employee Summer Assistance Program (CSESAP) applicable to the 2020–21 school year and after.

Local educational agencies (LEAs) participating in the CSESAP must notify their classified school employees of this election on or before January 1 of each fiscal year in which funds are appropriated.  A classified school employee wishing to participate in the CSESAP must complete and submit to their participating employer LEA the “Employee Election Form to Participate in the Classified School Employee Summer Assistance Program” by March 1 of each fiscal year in which funds are appropriated. To see if funding is appropriated for a specified year, refer to the table under Funding and Key Dates on the CDE's CSESAP web page [https://www.cde.ca.gov/fg/aa/ca/csesap.asp].

Each participating LEA shall determine whether their classified school employees who submit the election form are eligible to participate in the CSESAP pursuant to California Education Code Section 45500.

Participating LEAs should provide specific filing instructions to their employees to ensure the election forms are filed by the statutory deadline of March 1 of each fiscal year in which funds are appropriated.
