Dear Los Angeles County Superintendent of Schools and San Diego County Superintendent of Schools:

Ninth Apportionment for the
Expanded Learning Opportunities Grants
Amounts Paid from ESSER II Fund (Resource Code 3216),
Fiscal Year 2020–21

This apportionment, in the amount of $23,360, is made from the federal Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER II) Fund pursuant to the federal Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations (CRRSA) Act, 2021, (Public Law 116–260), and California Education Code (EC) Section 43521(a)(1) added by Section 2 of Assembly Bill (AB) 86 (Chapter 10, Statutes of 2021), and amended by Section 34 of AB 130 (Chapter 44, Statutes of 2021) and Section 12 of AB 167 (Chapter 252, Statutes of 2021). Funds are available to local educational agencies (LEAs) in support of the Expanded Learning Opportunities Grant (ELO-G). The amounts paid in this apportionment reflect the balance owed to Compass Charter Schools of Los Angeles and Compass Charter Schools of San Diego.

The ESSER II Fund is one of four federal fund sources available for ELO-G in EC Section 43521(a); other federal sources which are being paid in separate apportionments are listed on the ELO-G Apportionment Overview web page at https://www.cde.ca.gov/fg/fo/r14/elogfed20apptoverview.asp.

Accounting guidance for ELO-G is available at https://www.cde.ca.gov/fg/ac/co/acctab86ipielogrants.asp.

A warrant will be mailed approximately three weeks from the date of this letter. For standardized account code structure coding, use Resource Code 3216, ELO-G/ESSER II State Reserve, and Revenue Object Code 8290.
