Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS)

A Public Safety Power Shutoff is a preventative system that utility companies use when they predict extreme weather conditions that could cause a fire. Among many other weather conditions, wind and trees can interfere with electrical transmission and distribution lines, which can ignite fires. While an extreme weather condition may not be occurring in your area, you should still be on the alert in case you are impacted by a Public Safety Power Shutoff.
