Tsunamis


As a result of the many earthquakes in California, people near large bodies of water need to stay aware of the potential for a tsunami, especially because of the long-term environmental impact. A tsunami is a long and high sea wave caused by earthquakes, underwater landslides, or other disturbances. Like an earthquake, tsunamis are unpredictable and can occur any time.
