FFAVORS new requirement

Effective January 5, 2025, (FFAVORS) user are now required to receipt within 2 business days of receipt of product or required delivery date (RDD).

On December 27, 2024, the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced a policy change in the Department of Defense Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (DoD Fresh) Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Order Receipt System (FFAVORS) reporting timeline.

Effective January 5, 2025, school food authorities utilizing the DoD FFAVORS will be required to submit receipt of produce within two business days of delivery. This requirement was previously five days.

This new requirement aligns with the USDA Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) Instruction 709-5, which mandates that the shipment and receipt of USDA Foods be reported within 2 business days through the Web-Based Supply Chain Management System. USDA FNS has indicated that it will be updating the instructional guidance document soon to include this new timeline.
