Program Description

• Prior to 2008–09, funds were restricted to the Mathematics and Reading Professional Development - English Learners program. This program allocated funds to local educational agencies to provide professional development in mathematics and reading/language arts for eligible teachers of English learners.

Flexibility

• EC Section 42605 authorized complete flexibility for this funding for fiscal years 2008–09 through 2012–13. During those years, a school district or county office of education could use funds received for any educational purpose.
