Field names and description for the current Dashboard Alternative School Status (DASS) School List.
Field Description
CDS County-District-School (CDS) code. A unique 14-digit identification code for schools in California.
County County name.
District District or administrative authority name.
School School name.
Charter School

Yes = Charter School

No = Non-charter School

DASS Status Type

Describes the criterion by which a school met to achieve DASS:

  • 2022 CAA = this school administered the California Alternative Assessment (CAA) to at least 70 percent of its students in the 2021–22 school year.

  • 2020 DASS Application = this school completed the DASS application process in the 2019–20 school year.

  • 2021 DASS Application = this school completed the DASS application process in the 2020–21 school year.

  • 2022 DASS Application = this school completed the DASS application process in the 2021–22 school year.
  • Education Code Defined = this school type is referenced in California Education Code (EC) Section 52052(d).
First DASS Dashboard

The school's first DASS Dashboard. This signifies the start of the school's current 3-year DASS Dashboard cycle.

Last DASS Dashboard

The school's last DASS Dashboard. This signifies the year of the school's 3rd DASS Dashboard. Schools must reapply after this Dashboard to retain their DASS status. Please see "DASS Application Renewal Year" field.

N/A = School was identified as DASS based on Education Code. School is placed into DASS indefinitely.

DASS Application Renewal Year

DASS schools must re-apply once every three years to remain active on the DASS list. This field identifies the year that the DASS school must reapply to retain their DASS status. The DASS application submission window opens in the Spring and ends in early August.

N/A = School was identified as DASS based on Education Code. School is placed into DASS indefinitely.
