The motion passed by a vote of five to zero with two abstentions.

Subject: Consideration of Requests for Determination of Funding as Required for Nonclassroom-Based Charter Schools Pursuant to California Education Code sections 47612.5 and 47634.2, and Associated California Code of Regulations, Title 5.
CDE Recommendation: The CDE proposes to recommend that the State Board of Education (SBE) approve the determination of funding request at 100 percent for two years (2021–22 through 2022–23) for Coastal Grove Charter (charter number 0466), New Village Girls Academy (charter number 0791), Spring Lake Charter (charter number 0525), and REACH (charter number 1107); and approve the determination of funding request at 100 percent for two years (2022–23 through 2023–24) for Audeo Valley Charter (charter number 2118).
Action: Commissioner Garbolino-Mojica moved for recommendation to the SBE of the CDE staff recommendation.
Commissioner Taylor seconded the motion.

No votes: None
Members absent: Commissioners Fazel and Jones

The motion passed by a vote of seven to zero.

Subject: Consideration of a Request for Determination of Funding with “Reasonable Basis”/Mitigating Circumstances as Required for Nonclassroom-Based Charter Schools Pursuant to California Education Code sections 47612.5 and 47634.2, and Associated California Code of Regulations, Title 5.
CDE Recommendation: The CDE proposes to recommend that the SBE approve the determination of funding request at 70 percent for two years (2021–22 through 2022–23) for Sierra Foothill Charter (charter number 1396).
Action: Commissioner King moved for recommendation to the SBE to approve the school for 100 percent funding for two years.
Commissioner Sever seconded the motion.
Yes votes: Commissioners Austin, Garbolino-Mojica, King, Sever, Taylor, and Walsh
No votes: Commissioner Farland
Members absent: Commissioners Fazel and Jones
Abstentions: None
The motion passed by a vote of six to one.
