Subject: Petition for the Renewal of a Charter School Authorized by the California State Board of Education: Consideration of High Tech High Statewide Benefit Charter.
Recommendation: The California Department of Education (CDE) proposes to recommend that the California State Board of Education (SBE) hold a public hearing to approve the High Tech High Statewide Benefit Charter (Charter School) renewal petition for a term of five years, beginning July 1, 2025, and ending June 30, 2030.
The CDE proposes the following technical amendment as a condition of approving the Charter School renewal petition: The Charter School revises its charter to state that a Home Language Survey will be completed upon a student’s initial enrollment at a California public school.
Action: Commissioner Taylor moved for recommendation to the SBE of the CDE staff recommendation.
Commissioner Jones seconded the motion.
