American Indian Early Childhood Education (Flexible Funds)


Funding Description

Funding for this program is unrestricted pursuant to SBX3 4 (Chapter 12, Statutes of 2009), enacted February 2009. For additional information, please refer to the Action on 2008 and 2009 Budget Acts Web page.

Before 2008-09, the funds were restricted to the American Indian Early Childhood Education Program providing direct services to American Indian children, pre-kindergarten through grade four, in reading and math through after school tutorial.

Allocation Formula Funding for this program from fiscal years 2009-10 through 2012-13 will be based on 2008-09 funding levels. Local educational agencies (LEAs) will receive the same percentage of the available funding that they received of the funding allocated for 2008-09.
