California State Preschool Program Expansion FY 2021-22

Funding Description

The California Department of Education (CDE), Early Education Division (EED) announces a Request for Applications (RFA) for the availability of $130 million to expand California State Preschool Program (CSPP) services statewide. These funds are available to local education agency (LEA) applicants to provide full-day/full-year and/or part-day/part-year CSPP services beginning in fiscal year (FY) 2021-22. Funding will be allocated by county, and within each county by the Local Planning Council (LPC) priority area.

Eligible Applicants	Local educational agencies
Required Eligibility Criteria	Local Educational Agencies (LEA) may apply for funding pursuant to this RFA. Funding is available to those counties reflecting a need based on the formula described under program overview. The applicant must be licensed, be eligible for licensing in accordance with 22 CCR, Community Care Licensing, Division 12, or exempt from licensing pursuant to Health, and Safety Code Section 1596.792.
