California Early Childhood Special Education Grant


Funding Description

The California Early Childhood Special Education (CalECSE) grant is for the purpose of supporting the preschool technical assistance center to, (1) provide technical assistance and support to local educational agencies (LEAs) in the area of Part C to B in developing and administering comprehensive individualized education programs (IEPs); and (2) to develop tools and resources in the area of child find to assess and address learning and service needs for students with disabilities in the preschool setting.

Required Eligibility Criteria Covina-Valley Unified School District has been selected as the only grantee for their expertise in early childhood education and Part C to B transitions. This is the fourth year for this grantee, and they have created a consortium of other special education local plan areas (SELPAs), county offices of education, LEAs, and not for profit organizations as part of their team to address the issue of Part C to B transitions.
