Special Education Resource Lead


Funding Description

The Special Education Resource Lead (SERL) is established under Assembly Bill 178, Sec. 179, allocates the SERL, $12 million to be allocated by the Superintendent of Public Instruction to special education local plan areas (SELPA) selected pursuant to Section 52073.2 of the Education Code to provide technical assistance to local educational agencies (LEA) as defined in Section 52071 of the Education Code.

Eligible Applicants Local educational agencies
Required Eligibility Criteria The grantees were selected as a part of an application process and must be a SELPA, county offices of education (COEs), or consortia of SELPAs and COEs to serve as SERLs to work with lead agencies. The selected grantees must provide statewide representation and meet the requirements outlined in the Request for Application (RFA).
