Special Education Alternate Dispute Resolution Grant


Funding Description

Funds are used to develop and test procedures, materials, and training to support special education alternate dispute resolution (SPED ADR). Parents or guardians of students with disabilities, local educational agencies (LEAs), and special education local plan areas (SELPAs) may utilize the SPED ADR program to resolve disputes at the local level.

Eligibility

Eligible Applicants Local educational agencies
Required Eligibility Criteria All SELPAs are eligible for this funding. SELPAs participating in the program are eligible upon successful completion of an approved SPED ADR grant application. They are required to develop and participate in local alternate dispute resolution activities as part of a regional consortia.
Other Eligibility Considerations Selected SELPAs are required to collect, maintain, and provide data concerning SPED ADR expenditures, along with information about the development and testing of procedures, materials, and training for SPED ADR in special education.
