Dear County and District Superintendents and Charter School Administrators:

Mission Possible! Go Organic Winter Webinar Monday, February 24, 2025

On behalf of the California Department of Education (CDE) and in partnership with Conscious Kitchen, I invite all local superintendents, food services directors, and child nutrition leaders to join us for our Mission: Possible! Go Organic Winter Webinar.

Our schools play a vital role in the healthy development of California’s children. For many students, school cafeterias are their most reliable, consistent sources of healthy, fresh meals.

A joint initiative of the CDE and Conscious Kitchen, Mission: Possible! Go Organic is advancing efforts to include more fresh, organic ingredients in school meals across the state. Join the CDE, Conscious Kitchen, local nutrition services directors, and others to hear how possible it is to take key steps toward going organic.

What: Mission: Possible! Go Organic Winter Webinar

When: Monday, February 24, 2025, 2 p.m.

Where: Zoom and Facebook Live. Please register via Zoom at tinyurl.com/GoOrganicCDE225

During this webinar, participants will:

  • Learn how California’s schools are increasing fresh, healthy, organic ingredients in student meals.
  • Hear from Conscious Kitchen about how possible it is to procure organic, seasonal produce that students will love, including soon-to-be-in-season strawberries.
  • Meet the doctor behind Hikari Farms, an organic family farm in California that is growing food for schools as preventative medicine.

We appreciate your collaboration in supporting our students, schools, and communities. We look forward to seeing you via Zoom or Facebook Live on February 24!

Sincerely,

Tony Thurmond
State Superintendent of Public Instruction
