Program description:
The American Indian Early Childhood Education Program provided direct services to American Indian children, pre-kindergarten through grade four, in reading and math through after school tutorial.
Funding for this program was unrestricted pursuant to SBX3 4 (Chapter 12, Statutes of 2009), enacted February 2009.
Before 2008–09, the funds were restricted to the American Indian Early Childhood Education Program providing direct services to American Indian children, pre-kindergarten through grade four, in reading and math through after school tutorial.

Flexibility:
EC Section 42605 authorized complete flexibility for this funding for fiscal years 2008–09 through 2012–13. During those years a school district or county office of education could use funds received for any educational purpose.
