Program Description

• Prior to 2008–09, the funds were restricted to the Certificated Staff Mentoring Program. The program encouraged excellent and experienced teachers to teach in "staff priority schools" and to assist beginning teachers and teacher interns during their induction and first years of teaching, pursuant to EC Section 44560.

Flexibility

• EC Section 42605 authorized complete flexibility for this funding for fiscal years 2008–09 through 2012–13. During those years, a school district, county office of education, or charter school could use funds received for any educational purpose.
