LCFF Statewide Funding Fingertip Facts

Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) data summarized at the statewide level.

The LCFF provides the methodology for allocating funds in support of the public school system to local educational agencies (LEAs), which include elementary, high and unified school districts; charter schools; and county offices of education. Allocations are made through the Principal Apportionment system – a series of apportionment calculations that adjust the flow of State funds throughout the fiscal year as information becomes known. The LCFF Statewide Funding Fingertip Facts are provided for each of the First Principal (P-1), Second Principal (P-2), and Annual Apportionments.

Funding is calculated based on data reported by each LEA including pupil attendance, local revenue, and other demographic factors, in accordance with the LCFF. Funding data for all LEAs has been aggregated to provide statewide information for use by interested parties. The Fingertip Facts are intended as a summary and do not include detailed descriptions or explanations of the various sources and components of funding. LEA specific funding information is available on the Principal Apportionment web page.
