Peaches, Yellow

Product Description

Round or oblong fruits with a sweet or slightly tart flavor.  Skin should be yellow with streaks of red or orange.

Peak Growing Season

In California the growing season is from May to November, with peak growth time from June to August.

Uses

Can be eaten out-of-hand or sliced and added to yogurts, salads, pies, etc.

Preparation

Peaches bruise easily so handle with care, rinse in cool water and dry before serving.

Storage

Check for ripeness of fruits, if firm keep at room temperature (65-70 degrees Fahrenheit) until ripened.  If ripe, refrigerate at 32 degrees Fahrenheit for storage, but do not store longer than one week.

Best if Used By

Best used immediately, or within the first week if being stored in refrigerator.
