CNIPS Update

Transition of Child Nutrition Information and Payment System (CNIPS) server hosting and maintenance from California Department of Technology to California Department of Education (CDE).

The California Department of Education (CDE) will be having a maintenance outage and URL change for the Child Nutrition Information and Payment System (CNIPS). CNIPS will be temporarily unavailable and when CNIPS is back online, there will be a new URL.

This communication provides important dates to remember, information on the new CNIPS URL, usernames, passwords, and support contacts.

Dates to Remember

  • January 17, 2025, at 6:00 pm, CNIPS will be down and unavailable through January 20, 2025, as Technology Service Division (TSD) works to transition the CNIPS servers.

  • January 21, 2025, CNIPS will be online and Program Operators will have access using a new CNIPS URL: cnips.cde.ca.gov.

System Information

  • Program Operators will use their same Username and Password to login.

  • The CNIPS system and software functionality will be the same.

New Link and Reminders

  • On January 21, 2025, you will use a new CNIPS URL: cnips.cde.ca.gov

    • Note the cde portion of the URL has been added.

    • If you use the old URL (cnips.ca.gov), you will be redirected to the new site.

    • The redirect ability will be in place until NSD updates web references to old CNIPS URL. The NSD will communicate in advance of sunsetting the old URL redirect functionality.

    • Please remember to update your CNIPS bookmarks.
