Item 1–Alignment of Initiatives: Identify areas of alignment between the Special Education Task Force recommendations and the ACSE strategic priorities. Item 2–Multi-tiered System of Supports: A panel discussion related to college, career, and civic life readiness for all students in an aligned system of supports. Developing and implementing an aligned system of supports requires time and thoughtful consideration. This presentation will discuss results of considering all educational environments and stakeholders when decision-making and allocating resources. (Item type: Information, discussion)

Presented by Dr. Linda Hooper, Administrator, Smarter Balanced Summative Assessments Office; Jessica Valdez, Administrator, Smarter Balanced Interim Assessments and Digital Library Office; and Don Kilmer, Interim Administrator, California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress Office. Item 4–Disproportionality Support and Resources: An overview and discussion of the definition of disproportionality and the support and resources available to districts, charter schools, parents, and students. Item 6–General Public Comment and Organizational Input*: Public comment and organizational input is invited on any matter, including items not on the agenda. The ACSE is precluded from discussing matters not on the agenda; however, questions may be asked for clarification purposes. Issues raised by the public may be referred to a future meeting agenda. Depending on the number of individuals wishing to address the ACSE, the Chair may establish time limits on presentations. (Item type: Information)

*Time will be allocated to distance participant Family Empowerment Centers (FECs) and Parent Training and Information Centers (PTIs) to present issues of importance to families. Stakeholders wishing to give public comment via teleconference may contact their local FEC or PTI prior to the meeting to arrange in person comment at the FEC or PTI.
