California Alternate Assessment for Science Administration Planning Guides
The 2024–25 California Alternate Assessment (CAA) for Science Administration Planning Guides for grades five and eight and high school have been posted on the CAASPP CAA for Science Administration Planning Guides web page
. These guides provide the assessed Science Connectors and include a testing planner to help prepare for the best time to administer the four embedded performance tasks throughout the school year. The administration of an embedded performance task should occur shortly after the student has received instruction on the related science content.
Schools are assigned to one of four forms, and all grade levels within a school have the same form assignment. It is important to download the materials associated with the correct form for the administration of the CAA for Science. Local educational agencies (LEAs) can locate their form assignments by school name or county-district-school code on the CAASPP CAA for Science Form Assignments web page
.
LEAs should access these guides early to ensure careful and timely planning of the four embedded performance tasks throughout the school year. The CAA for Science testing window opens on Tuesday, September 17, 2024.
High School Equivalency Program Updates
Another year of successful High School Equivalency and Proficiency Summer Convenings has occurred. The California Department of Education (CDE) team was happy to present program updates side-by-side with the two testing vendors: GED Test Services and PSI. Prerecorded presentations are now available on the CDE HSE & Proficiency Communications and Presentations web page.
