Summative ELPAC Results Are Now Available for Supporting Reclassification Efforts
On May 22, 2024, the California Department of Education (CDE) released the first wave of kindergarten through grade twelve results for the Summative ELPAC. As students complete testing, their assessment will be processed and scored by ETS. New results will be transmitted to the Test Operations Management System daily.
As educators begin to review the performance of students to determine eligibility for reclassification based on the state’s four reclassification criteria, please be aware that a new validation error was implemented by the California Longitudinal Pupil Achievement Data System (CALPADS) on May 7, 2024. This validation error will be triggered if a Reclassified Fluent English Proficient (RFEP) start date does not overlap with an enrollment (SELA0652 - Missing Enrollment Record for RFEP Student). To ensure that students are included in a school’s RFEP count, the English Language Acquisition status date used to exit a student from English Learner status to RFEP status must overlap the student enrollment. Training has been provided to CALPADS administrators. If your local educational agency (LEA) has questions regarding this new CALPADS validation, please email CALPADS@cde.ca.gov.
