California EC 41580 states that the California Department of Education shall compile information reported by grant recipients pursuant to EC 41580(f).

College Readiness Block Grant Legislative Report

Executive Summary

Governor Brown signed Senate Bill 828 into law in June 2016. SB 828 added Education Code (EC) Section 41580 (Article 8 added by Stats. 2016, Ch. 29, Sec. 9.), which governs the allocation of a $200 million College Readiness Block Grant (CRBG) to provide California’s high school pupils—particularly unduplicated pupils— with additional supports to increase the number of students that enroll at institutions of higher education and complete an undergraduate degree within four years.

EC Section 41580 states that the department (in reference to the California Department of Education) shall compile information reported by grant recipients pursuant to EC 41580(f) and “submit a report to the appropriate policy and fiscal committees of the Legislature on or before April 30, 2017, and shall update the state board on the contents of that report at a regularly scheduled meeting of the state board.”

This report provides a compilation of information as required by EC Section 41580. We have included the local educational agencies’ (LEAs) response regarding “…how they will measure the impact of the funds received on their unduplicated pupils’ access and successful matriculation regarding institutions of higher education, as identified in their plan.”
