Funding Description

The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) provides resources and assistance to local educational agencies (LEAs) with schools eligible for Comprehensive Support and Improvement (CSI). Consistent with the California statewide system of support focus on increasing the capacity of LEAs to meet the needs of all students, the Budget Act of 2019 appropriated ESSA, Section 1003 funds to county offices of education (COEs) for the purpose of supporting the statewide system of technical assistance for schools that meet the criteria for CSI.
