The purpose of the Improving Systems of Academic and Behavioral Supports (ISABS) is to enable one county office of education (COE), or two COEs applying jointly, to develop and disseminate statewide resources and technical assistance that encourage local education agencies to establish and align schoolwide, data-driven systems of academic and behavioral supports to meet the needs of California's diverse learners.

The California Department of Education is accepting applications from California County Offices of Education for a new project titled Developing, Aligning, and Improving Systems of Academic and Behavioral Supports for statewide development and scaling up of a Multi-Tiered System of Supports framework in the form of a onetime grant available for the 2015–16 fiscal year through the 2017–18 fiscal year. Assembly Bill 104, Chapter 13, Statutes of 2015 (Section 57) appropriated the funding for this project. |
