SUN Bucks Web Page is Now Live


The Nutrition Services Division (NSD) is pleased to announce that the SUN Bucks (Summer Electronic Benefit Transfer [EBT]) web page is now live and accessible on the California Department of Education (CDE) website. Program Overview:

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) officially established the SUN Bucks program through the Interim Final Rule on December 29, 2023. This program offers food benefits via a SUN Bucks EBT card to families with eligible school-age children during the summer months when school meals are not available. In California, SUN Bucks is managed through a partnership between the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) and the CDE, with Local Educational Agencies (LEA) playing a key role in making eligibility determinations.
