The WAI Advisory welcomes public involvement. Opportunities for public comment are provided at every meeting.

  • Item 1–Call to Order: Welcome and Introductions; Mission and Vision; Approval of Minutes.
8:50 a.m. to 8:55 a.m.
  • Item 2–Special Election: The WAI Advisory Committee will vote to establish the Executive Committee for 2024–25.
8:55 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
  • Item 3–Special Election: The WAI Advisory Committee will vote to establish subcommittees in the following areas: Student Voice, WAI Advisory Bylaws, WAI Grant Award Notification, California Educators Together, and WAI Statewide Conference.
9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.
  • Item 4–WAI Bylaw Committee Report: The WAI State Advisory and Regional Bylaws Committee will share proposed updates to the Bylaws. Time will be provided for discussion of proposed changes by WAI Advisory. A vote on the Bylaws will be conducted on Day 2.

  • Item 5–Committee and Regional Updates: Region co-managers and committee chairs share news and updates.

  • Item 7–California Department of Education Update: CDE staff will discuss recent developments within the SED, as well as updates to key areas related to the WAI grant.

  • Item 8–Bagley-Keene Review: Annual review of Bagley Keene mandates related to the WAI Advisory Committee.
1:50 p.m. to 2:10 p.m.
  • Item 9–Grant Award Notification Committee Update: The WAI Grant Award Notification (GAN) Committee will share progress and next steps regarding the initiative to streamline the delivery of the WAI GAN.
2:10 p.m. to 2:55 p.m.
  • Item 10–WorkAbility I Needs Survey: The WAI Advisory Committee will review results of a needs survey that was delivered to WAI grantees and develop priorities for 2024–25 based on those results.
2:55 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
