August 2024: Assessment and Accountability Information Meeting

Registration is now open to all for the 2024 Assessment and Accountability Information Meeting (AAIM), hosted by the California Department of Education (CDE). The two–hour virtual meetings will provide coordinators with the latest information and updates on California's assessment and accountability systems.

The virtual sessions for assessment, accountability, proficiency, and equivalency coordinators will be held weekly on three afternoons in August from 2 to 4 p.m. The dates and topics are as follows:

• August 1, 2024—National and International Tests, Physical Fitness Test, California High School Equivalency and Proficiency Programs, Cross Program Updates for CAASPP and ELPAC, Interim and Formative Assessments

• August 8, 2024—ELPAC, California Spanish Assessment, Science, English Language Arts/literacy (ELA) and Mathematics Assessments

• August 15, 2024—California School Dashboard and Accountability Updates

Reminder—2024 Interim and Formative Assessment Training Series July Sessions

Space is still available for the 2024 Interim and Formative Assessment Training Series starting on July 8. These free sessions are a great way to prepare for the 2024–25 school year. The sessions are organized as follows:

• Module 1—A deep dive into formative assessment practices and resources, including an exploration of the Tools for Teachers website
• Module 2—Explore how to use CAASPP and ELPAC interim assessments and online systems to support teaching and learning
• Module 3—Detailed instruction and practice in hand scoring Smarter Balanced ELA and mathematics, California Science Test (CAST), and ELPAC, with resources to support teaching and learning
  • 3A: Smarter Balanced Interim Assessment Hand Scoring—ELA
  • 3B: Smarter Balanced Interim Assessment Hand Scoring—Mathematics
  • 3C: CAST Interim Assessment Hand Scoring
  • 3D: ELPAC Interim Assessment Hand Scoring
