Ad Hoc Committee on Assessment & Accountability
- Welcome and Introductions
Committee Chair Shiels called the Ad Hoc Committee on Assessment & Accountability meeting to order. All participating Ad Hoc Committee members and IQC members introduced themselves, verified the posting of the public meeting notice, and introduced public members. The CDE staff members were also identified.
- Assessment Update
Diane Hernandez, Director, Assessment Development & Administrative Division, CDE, provided an update on the Smarter Balanced Assessment System, California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP), California English Language Development Test (CELDT) – English Language Proficiency Assessments for California (ELPAC), and the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE). Ms. Hernandez provided the commissioners an assessment PowerPoint and throughout her presentation she addressed questions. As a follow-up, commissioners could e-mail additional questions to the CFIRD staff to forward to Ms. Hernandez.
At a future meeting, the Ad Hoc Committee requested to have an update on the new accountability system.
