The Education Research and Evaluation Consultants (ERECs), with direction from an Education Research and Evaluation Administrator or an Education Administrator, independently perform the more sensitive and complex research.

Job Description

The Education Research and Evaluation Consultants (ERECs), with direction from an Education Research and Evaluation Administrator or an Education Administrator, independently perform the more sensitive and complex research and evaluation assignments using pre-kindergarten through higher education data. Incumbents analyze, plan, develop, administer, and evaluate programs to determine effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement. ERECs serve as departmental spokespersons and provide technical assistance to local educational agencies and the general public. ERECs interpret qualitative and quantitative data in an educational area; generate policy alternatives for management decision making; assist external agencies or stakeholders engaged in educational program improvement efforts; monitor educational projects and/or improvement efforts and prepare and present documents on sensitive policy issues for a variety of constituent groups or individuals.

Qualifications Assessment Questionnaire

The California civil service selection system is merit-based, and eligibility for appointment is established through a formal examination process. The Education Research and Evaluation Consultant examination consists of a Qualifications Assessment Questionnaire (QAQ) that will be used to evaluate your experience, education, and training. The QAQ is the entire examination and will account for 100% of your score. Candidates will receive notification of their score by mail.
