ODS Reports and Extracts Moved to "Real Time"
Recent CALPADS upgrades enabled us to provide CALPADS Operational Data Store (ODS) reports on a "real time" basis. This means ODS reports and extracts now reflect data that are posted in real time, and users no longer have to wait until the next day to see the changes they have made. In anticipation of this transition, the CDE reviewed the usage of ODS reports and solicited input from local educational agencies (LEAs). Based on that analysis and LEA input, we identified reports to retain and reports to retire. All extracts were retained.
As communicated in a listserv message emailed on August 20, 2024, the transition of ODS reports and extracts to real time was made on Tuesday, August 27, 2024. Some report and extract defects were identified, and new defects continue to be identified. While many of the defects have been resolved, there continue to be outstanding issues which the CDE is working to resolve as soon as possible. The reports that were retained and retired are listed below. It should be noted that the CDE plans to bring back a limited number of End-of-Year ODS reports that reflect data used in calculating California School Dashboard (Dashboard) indicators so that LEAs may view any updates they have made in CALPADS after the close of the EOY amendment window. While these data will not be used for the Dashboard, the LEA can verify by viewing the reports that the data in CALPADS is now accurate.
