CDE staff administered the statewide Apprenticeship Program through implementation of apprenticeship professional development activities and apprenticeship related and supplementary instruction (RSI). The CDE supported RSI in 35 regional occupational centers and program and adult education programs with over 200 apprenticeship programs supporting over 40,000 registered apprentices. RSI funding was provided to the California Department of Education through California’s annual budget act. Administration of the Apprenticeship Program was shifted to the California Community College Chancellor’s Office during the 2013-14 fiscal year.
