External Organizations Providing Technical Assistance to 21^st Century Community Learning Centers Grantees

The Expanded Learning Division of the California Department of Education (CDE) accepted self-nominations in May of 2023 for eligible organizations to be included as part of a published list of organizations that 21^st Century Community Learning Centers (21^st CCLC) grantees may reference for potential partnerships, technical assistance, or professional development support. The Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 Section 4201(B)(4) defines an external organization as:

(A) a nonprofit organization with a record of success in running or working with before and afterschool (or summer recess) programs and activities; or

(B) in the case of a community where there is no such organization, a nonprofit organization in the community that enters into a written agreement or partnership with an organization described in (A) to receive mentoring, and guidance in running or working with before and afterschool (or summer recess) programs and activities.

• Any organization that meets the submission criteria will be included on the External Organizations list.
• The CDE does not endorse the organizations on this list, or certify the quality of services provided by the organization.
• Inclusion on the External Organizations list will not provide a competitive advantage during 21^st CCLC grant competitions.
• The CDE will keep the external organizations on the list for a minimum of three years.
