SubjectCALPADS Update FLASH #212

Fall 1 2021−22 Training Now Open

Fall 1 training was announced via a listserv message sent Friday, September 3, 2021. Registration for all Fall 1 training sessions are now available to CALPADS Data Coordinators/LEA Administrators through Bridge, the Learning Management System (LMS) used for CALPADS training.

In addition to the announced training sessions for those with a Bridge account, a webinar for Fall 1 Reporting and Certification will be provided for users who do not have a Bridge account. This webinar is scheduled for Thursday, September 30, 2021 at 9:30 AM.

Registration in advance is required for this webinar. You may register through this link: https://fcmat.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_S5ePkkhbSW-37Y5YPMu2yA [Note: The preceding link is for an event that occurred in the past; the link is no longer valid.]

After registering, attendees will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.

Announcement of New Quarterly Regional Meetings

As announced in the April 2021 CALPADS Information Meeting (CIM), the CDE will begin providing regional webinars every quarter to give CALPADS users timely updates and relevant information regarding CALPADS data submissions and data use. Registration is now open for these meetings via the CDE CALPADS Quarterly Updates web page: https://www.cde.ca.gov/ds/sp/cl/calupd.asp.

The CALPADS Quarterly Updates page lists the five regions (Northern A and B, Central Valley, Southern A and B), and the counties included in each region. The meetings will be held every other month, beginning in November 2021. As the table below shows, the meeting for each region will always be held on the same day of the month (e.g., the first Tuesday or Wednesday of the month) at the same time. Due to limited space for each webinar, we request that participants sign up for the session in their respective regions.

Refer to the CALPADS Quarterly Updates page at https://www.cde.ca.gov/ds/sp/cl/calupd.asp to confirm your region, and for the specific meeting dates scheduled for the remainder of the 2021−22 academic year: November 2021 through May 2022.

Region Meeting Day Meeting Time
Northern A First Tuesday of the month 8:15 – 10:15 AM
Northern B First Tuesday of the month 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM
Central Valley First Tuesday of the month 1:30 – 3:30 PM
Southern A First Wednesday of the month 9:00 – 11:00 AM
Southern B First Wednesday of the month 1:00 – 3:00 PM

The CDE will continue to provide the CIM in April and October to communicate broader policy updates, and less detailed information. We hope that through the more frequent quarterly meetings, we will be able to provide LEAs with more timely detailed information that is easier to consume during a shorter session. The smaller audience will also enable more direct interaction between CALPADS project staff and users.
